HKR Spotted Tease
We have been breeding Appaloosa horses in Missouri ( foundation type horses ) for close to 30 years. In the past we have used foundation Quarter Horse stallions and crossed on a few Appaloosa mares. As a kid that grew up on P.O.A's I've always had a soft spot for anything with spots. In recent years we have switched to foundation Appaloosa stallions with a lot of cow sense to cross on our mares. We run about a 50/50 band of brood mares. The quarter mares have blood lines like, Hollywood Dunn It, Smart Little Lena, Doc Sug, Dual Pep, Peponita, Doc Bar, Tiff Digger, Hancock and Two Eyed Jack. Most of the Appaloosa mares are Ulrich and Poco Bueno bred.
Our stallions are using horses. When not working cattle they are competing, showing or trail riding. We pride ourselves on the versatility of the horses we ride and raise. We spend a lot of time getting babies ready for a future. (Weather they like it or not.) All our babies are saddled as yearlings with pony saddles to get them aquainted with all the things to come as two year olds. When you pick a baby up from us it has been exposed to as much as a baby possibly can be.
The stallions that we have, HKR Spotted Tease, video of him as a yearling at the bottom of the page, and QAR Executive Gold, HKR Dealin N Dots and Royale N Clay Nation are all very well bred horses going back to Appaloosa and Quarter horse greats alike. (Click on a name for his pedigree.) Dots has been gelded and a young girl is now competing on him in the St. Louis area. It was hard to see him go but hes off on a different adventure and I'm sure he will do great. Rowdy has also left, hes now in Arkansas tending to a smaller herd. I look forward to seeing his upcoming foals. Blondie stands 15.2 with with as much bone as you could ask for. He's an all day kinda using horse. If your roping, rodeoing or working a pasture all day his babies are the kind you want to be on. With the looks to win any halter class as well. Who can pass up a golden palamino with a butt blanket? Wiley (HKR Spotted Tease) is an awesome young horse with as much potential as any horse I've ever started. He has an intelligence about him that gives you chills. Absolutely loves to work a cow. We have high Hope's for his future. We only breed to registered mares. Thanks for stopping by to visit us and we hope to hear from you soon.
